Leaked email - Communication Council
To get local ECDs attending the AWARD School graduation, we needed to grab their attention. So we leaked information that DDB ECD Toby Talbot was already making a play to get the best students for himself. This was done via an email ‘accidently’ sent from Toby’s PA to Colenso BBDO’s Steve Cochran instead of DDB’s own Steve Kane. Cochran then sent this to all staff at Colenso, then within a day it spread around the industry and made its way to the local ad media. As a result the night was a huge success. A majority of ECDs attended, and teams were offered jobs on the night. In less than a week after graduation 75% of students had been given jobs or placements. All thanks to a little email that was ‘accidentally’ sent to the wrong address
